An anonymous mom asked: FINANCIAL COSTS OF GENETIC TESTING "I am a mom of a 32 weeker who is now 22 months old. Recently we consulted with a neurologist because his regular pediatrician was suspicious of mild cerebral palsy. The neurologist however, examined my son and ruled out CP. Instead she feels we are dealing with a chromosomal defect and wants to send him for genetic testing. We have already called our insurance company, none of the tests she has ordered will have any coverage. My son thus far has not qualified for any government aid and all therapies and treatments have been paid by us. While I desperately want to help my son and give him everything; financially genetic testing is not something my husband and I can provide. So I come to you and ask it anyone knows of programs/groups/charities that can help?"
