An answer for Jehovahs Witnesses on John 14:28, they claim is that greater means better in nature. I am posting three all together on this verse. This is my sons outline that we are working together on. John 14:28 New King James Version (NKJV) 28 You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I. “Greater” ≠ “Better” rather “Greater” ≈ “Eminent” Observe the meaning of GREATER in Genesis 48:19 (NWT), where Josephs father, Jacob, gave greater blessing to the younger Eprhraim than to the firstborn Manasseh. Did Manasseh and Eprhraim, both have the same human nature while one was greater than the other? The greater position has nothing to do with their human nature, thus the Father can be in the greater position and the Son still be God. Discussion Examples As a Jehovahs Witnesses are you better, than those on the outside of the organization? And being one of Jehovahs Witnesses, are you in a greater position, in the theocratic arrangement, than those on the outside of your organization? Is President of the United States is greater than Vice President? Of course the President could say he is greater than the VP but would never claim he is better than the Vice President.
