So you think you’re the No. 1 fan of the Bulldogs, Rebels, Golden Eagles, Tigers or other Mississippi sports teams? If so, prove it. Now you can with a new app called "Fancred" created by a Mississippi State University graduate that measures your fan credentials and allows sports fans to post thoughts, pictures and interact with other fans. MSU has become the first college in the country to have a Fancred profile. “I am thrilled Mississippi State is the first university to join Fancred with an official account,” Fancred CEO Hossein Kash Razzaghi, said in a news release. “Now, MSU can connect directly with their students, alumni and fans through their Fancred account. Fans will be able to access everything from updates, behind-the-scenes footage and breaking news about their favorite Bulldog sports teams. “As a life-long Bulldog fan and alumnus, this is an especially important milestone for me,” said Razzaghi, who graduated in 2003 with a degree in electrical engineering and received his MBA in Starkville in 2004. “I am beyond excited to work with the MSU Athletic Department in reaching their millions of fans all over the world.” Fancred was founded in Boston in late 2012, and creators officially launched the Fancred iPhone app in March of 2013. The sports-only social media platform gives fans of all sports a way to discover, connect and share their favorite sports content. Fancred users earn a “Fancred Score,” a 1-to-100 point system that measures their overall engagement and activity on the application. The creators say professional baseball franchises began joining Fancred in early August. The social media platform has also partnered with some of the biggest media outlets in the world, including NESN, Athlon Sports, FanSided, FanIQ, ESPN Radio affiliates and select SB Nation websites.
