An electoral council consistent with the spirit of Article 289 of the Constitution of Haiti was installed on Friday and a sense of confidence in an electoral process was widely acclaimed. But the path to an electoral process still remained unclear. Members of the counsel are contested by their sectors but far greater and compounding is Michel Martellys grasp of Haiti with no accord, no Parliament, no Constitution. The country seems quiet but it is building pressure. The situation is fragile, unsustainable and why entering into an electoral process is just not possible with Martelly at the Head of State.
