An environmental group says the South Australian Government has failed to clean up land across the state that has been littered with tonnes of household and industrial waste for decades. The group Friends of Riverland Parks said it had found rubbish on crown land between Renmark and the Cooltong Conservation Park that dated back to the 1940s or 1950s. President John Nettlefold said it was a blight on the landscape. Unfortunately I think there is a culture of using the bush to dump your rubbish, he said. Mr Nettlefold said it was the responsibility of Natural Resources SA to clean up the site but there had been a long delay in achieving anything concrete.
