An example of God using what the world considers to be foolish & weak vessels to confound the so-called wise & mighty of this world is found in the life of Stephen as recorded in the 6th chapter of Acts. We originally hear of Stephen as being 1 of 7 men chosen to administer operations for the feeding of those Grecian widows, who were otherwise neglected. The selection of these 7 men freed up the original apostles to give of themselves completely & continually to prayer, preparation time for their teaching ministries, and to actual times of discipling believers for their advancements in the Word. Therefore, this Stephen started his ministry life in a supporting role of helps - humble though it was. However, his exposure to the life & wisdom found in the apostles (by virtue of this position) caused him to progress to a point wherein the members of the highly esteemed council of Jewish priests were stunned into silence by the words coming out of him.
