An exciting day!!! News from our partners at CDOT. . . Monday, November 4, US 36 will reopen to all traffic at noon. Prior to the noon opening, no access of any kind (including local access) will be possible between the hours of 8 a.m. and noon in order to allow crews to finalize equipment removal within the project limits. No pilot cars will run Monday morning, but access will be possible for local residents before 8 a.m. When US 36 reopens for traffic, motorists are reminded that the highway is in temporary condition. Although the highway is paved, the lanes will be narrow and some areas will not have shoulders. There will be a width restriction that prohibits oversize loads from using the highway, as most of the highway is 12 feet wide, and some areas will be as narrow as 10 feet. Stopping will not be permitted on the highway at any time due to the lack of shoulders and narrow roadway. Furthermore, the speed limit will be reduced from 45 MPH to 25 MPH in some areas for the safety of the traveling public.
