An explanation regarding the German Kaiser Helmet as featured in his live performance: The Helmet on the Musiksoldat websites is a symbol. I want to explain what it has to do with me and my Musik Soldat appearances. The helmet is not a Nazi helmet as some might think, it belongs to the Kaiser Wilhelm era during colonial rules and First World War. For me this “brilliantly designed“ Helmet is a medium of might, obedience and suppression. As some of you probably know I’m a pacifist and hate all what has to do with military facilities and war. Fortunately in my homeland I had the chance to refuse from such duty in the 60s. I had chosen to work in a public hospital instead, which was a good decision to me. On stage I use the Helmet at the end of my show ironically, and march exercising in front of scenes from an early anti war movie where a German airship had order to bomb Trafalger Square, England! One of the German soldiers inside of the Zeppelin airship tries to sabotage this grotty action and pays with his death through the captain. This young soldier is a hero to me! The songs I present are special collected and fit to the scenes of that barbarous era. My acting is not meant as a joke or comedy act, it is an honest statement. The name “MusikSoldat“ was created as a caricature by means of “make music no war“. March on in your life for good and defend violence. Wolfgang Flür
