An hour ago, the remains of Hon. Femi Adelakun a.k.a Century Pictures who died on November 25th, 2014, were brought to floor of the Oyo State House of Assembly where he was a member until his demise. Glowing and emotional tributes were paid by his 31 colleagues in an event that lasted 3 hours. There I got to know how he persevered when his mandate as chairman elect under the defunct Action Congress was stolen. Convincingly, he defeated the PDP candidate, winning 9 out of the 10 councillorship slots but the Adebayo Alao-Akala stole the mandate. A firm believer in justice, he went to Court and he won but yet the government of the day wads defiant. Rather than resort to violence, he advised his supporters against being violent but support the man who was imposed on the people. In 2011, he contested and won his election to represent AFIJIO State Constituency in the State House of Assembly. Before he bowed to death after a 3-day sickness, he was the. Chairman, House. Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters and State Honours. Summarily, no matter the amount of material wealth we acquire, everybody, including me, will taste death.
