An integral part of my job is to be proficient with certain postcodes (or zip codes as our American cousins refer to them). The majority of those I work with are areas along the south coast of England. Some members of the group may be aware that the county of Dorset has the prefix BH for its postcode and DT as you venture further to the west of said county. Im not completely wise to areas of the DT prefix, as this is not somewhere my company regularly has something to do with, but Im pretty hot on the BH prefix. For example: Postcodes that start with BH1, BH2, BH3, BH4, BH5, BH6, BH7, BH8, BH9, BH10 and BH11 are all in Bournemouth. BH12, BH13, BH14, BH15, BH16, BH17, BH18, BH19 and BH20 are predominantly the town of Poole and venture more westwards towards Wareham. BH21 is Wimborne, BH22 Ferndown, BH23 Christchurch, BH24 Ringwood and BH25 New Milton. I can also apply my postcode knowledge to the prefixes SO, PO, SP and also the offshore postcodes of JE and GY, which are the Channel Islands. Of all the postcodes Im familiar with, BH13 is my least favourite. Its a very nice area, but not an ideal place for some of my workers to carry out their duties with ease.
