An interesting comment from my daughter Kat this AM. We were spreading cedar chips around her back yard and she asked why the smell of cedar would cause her to think about archery. I told her that, 40 some years ago, her grandfather Bob and I used to have archery practice in his long driveway very regularly before archery season, where we would shoot into targets attached to cedar toe bales. She and her brother would frequently come along and watch, helping pull the arrows out. Wow, an interesting connection she had made when she was around 4 or 5, and it surfaced without her realizing the history.
