An invitation to the Premier from Victorian Paramedics Play video Premier Denis Napthine thinks the ambulance crisis is being made up by paramedics. He denies that the system is at breaking point and downplays the effect on Victorian patients. So paramedics… 00:02:15 Added on 2/07/2013 2,367 views Dear friend, First of all, thank you for signing our petition. Victorian paramedics have been overwhelmed by the amount of support we have received from the community. An incredible 17,000 people have now signed our petition to Premier Denis Napthine! Victorian paramedics have now been in negotiations for over 10 months with no movement from the Napthine Government. While Victorian paramedics remain the lowest paid in Australia and are forced to fight to just keep conditions like sick leave, annual leave and injury entitlements, politicians have awarded themselves generous pay rises of up to $25,000 a year! Please view our short video and share it with your friends youtube/watch?v=S44EiJ2odFc The ambulance crisis is worsening with hospital ramping occurring every day and every night in hospitals right across the state with cases of patients waiting up to 8 hours on stretcher in a hospital corridor becoming the norm. Response times have blown out at every single metropolitan branch with examples of patients suffering in pain while they wait too long for ambulances to arrive occurring every day and some patients don’t get an ambulance at all. With increased workload and deteriorating morale, paramedics are looking for career alternatives. A recent survey shows that 1500 paramedics will be leaving the job over the next five years if working conditions do not improve. But Denis Napthine refuses to acknowledge that the ambulance system is in crisis. Instead he thinks that we are exaggerating the situation, accusing us of telling untruths and running a scare campaign. Paramedics would like the Premier to see things from our perspective. We want Denis Napthine to come out on a Friday or Saturday nightshift in the city to see the crisis first hand rather than be sheltered from the realities of the situation by Ambulance Victoria management. The community needs Denis Napthine to understand the reality of the ambulance crisis because ultimately, it is his responsibility to provide proper ambulance services to the Victorian community. Premier Napthine can fix this crisis by listening to us and valuing us, rather than blindly dismissing our concerns. Please view our short video at and share it with your friends youtube/watch?v=S44EiJ2odFc Please help us reach our target of 20,000 signatures. Share our petition on Facebook and Twitter and urge your friends, family and work colleagues to sign it too at tinyurl/coderedpetition Many thanks,
