An update on one of our amazing alums, Shannon Dooling (2013) She is currently the co-director of New Street Dance Group, a collaborative modern dance company with bases in the DC and Philadelphia Metro Areas. They will be presenting their second annual Philadelphia FringeArts Performance on Saturday, September 13. The performance features choreography by Shannon and her co-director, Krista Armbruster, set to a score by UMD School of Music student Alexandra T. Bryant, played live by a group of 10 musicians (all also students or alumni from the UMD SOM), arranged by Jonathan Cain, MM13. They have been awarded a space grant from the College Park Arts Exchange (CPAE) to have a preview performance at the Old Parish House, 4711 Knox Rd, College Park, MD at 6:00pm on Sunday, September 7, 2014. For the first time, the cast of dancers and musicians will be performing together at this special sneak peek event. The informal performance is presented free of charge thanks to CPAE.
