An updated note Dish Subscribers: As we have announced, WABI TV5 - TopicsExpress

An updated note Dish Subscribers: As we have announced, WABI TV5 has been unable to reach an agreement with DISH for the continued carriage of its CBS and CW affiliated stations. Without an agreement, WABI TV5 and WABI DT2 will be removed from the DISH line-up by midnight on Tuesday night, July 15th. We are aware of Dish’s assertion that the pending impasse is based on proposed monetary rates. It is misleading of Dish to characterize the proposed rates as a “demand.” While the rates are indeed under negotiation, this is still an open issue and not the direct cause of the pending impasse that may result in the loss of our stations on Tuesday. The unresolved key issues are related to existing obligations on Dish’s part involving signal delivery and service to subscribers. We have been very clear that the rates and certain other terms are open for further discussion. In fact, we have already made several concessions on other terms – including proposed rates. We are willing to continue to negotiate. However, there is no point in further negotiation when there can be no agreement on these outstanding key issues that are not related to rates. We are still open to a fair agreement that will allow the stations to remain on the DISH service. DISH customers may contact DISH via their customer service number, 1-800-333-DISH (3474), or through their customer website, mydish. Your phone calls to us are also welcomed. 207-947-8321.
