***Analyzing one on-drive from Hashim Amla*** Harris to Amla, FOUR. No matter where do you bowl to him now, he will not bludgeon the ball.. Just times them sweetly. The prime example of this is this boundary. Was not a very loose delivery at all.. Amla, as per his technique, moves his back foot back and across, gets his front foot in line and gets slightly crouched in his ready position.. Was pitched on a length on middle stump and Amla gets one step ahead to get himself into a terrific position, then comes a wonderful downswing of the bat in a lovely straight arc, through the line of delivery.. Mere punch really, nothing else. The back foot also releases onto the tip-toes and then follows through in this process to complete the full body movement. Does not over-hit it. Allows it to come onto him.. Strikes it from the sweetest part of the bat and when you ping it from the middle, it is an enjoyable feel.. Seductive on-drive indeed.
