“And Moses said unto Joshua ... tomorrow I will stand on the top - TopicsExpress

“And Moses said unto Joshua ... tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.” (Exodus 17: 9) That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. In our Focal Scripture, Moses went to the top of the hill, with the rod of God in his hands. Moses stepped into visibility and relevance, and he didn’t go empty-handed; he had what no one else had. Moses had a position of responsibility in Israel, and he didnt stand on the hill for vain glory; he stood because he had something in his hands. Isn’t it tragic that in the 21st century, some men are standing on the ‘hill’ with no ‘rod’ in their hands? There are men in leadership, both in the house of God and in the secular world, who have absolutely nothing to offer their generation. Some people are content to be on the hill, with empty hands. Friend, what is in your hands? What can you offer to your generation? What do you have to offer in your place of work? What uniqueness can make you stand out? What can you do to make a difference in your generation? If that desired height comes to you now, what do you have to offer? As you rise to visibility and relevance, God says, make sure you have something to offer. Make sure you have what it takes to make an impact; ensure that you have a rod in your hands; as you embrace leadership, make sure you can handle responsibilities that come with leadership; as you seek good opportunities, build up yourself with skills, ideas, visions, etc that will make you relevant and exceptional. If you have nothing in your hands and you end up in the spotlight, you might end up advertising your emptiness, incompetence, ineffectiveness, unpreparedness, etc. Moses’ presence on the hill made a difference because he had the rod of God; as you rise to the top, go with your rod. Pray With Me: Lord, may I never be empty-handed as I rise to the top, in Jesus’ name! Follow on Twitter @jerrystreams. Have A Blessed Monday And A Hugely Rewarding Week Ahead.
