After years of substantial under investment, it is clear that we need to produce cheaper electricity. Wind power? Boy, have we got wind! Hydro? Boy, have we got water. So what does this once proud nation decide to do? It seeks to build a Nuclear Power Station. Dangerous, toxic, filthy, expensive technology that produces deadly by-products that we dont really have to deal with so long as we can bury it somewhere for thousands of years and hope that it doesnt get into the water table. Lets all volunteer shall we? Ill have a couple of tons of Plutonium under my back garden please. Should we build this Power Station? No let the French to build it! Shall we pay for it? No let the Chinese pay for it! But whos gonna pay in the long term? Us! Why are we doing this? I cant answer that one!
