“And he, trembling and astonished, said, ‘Lord, what will You have me to do’?” Acts 9:6a “Good morning, Father. “Thanks for watching over me during the night and designing my body in such a way that it functions properly even while I sleep. In a way, this is implicit trust in You—for I am unaware of what’s going on within me or even around me while asleep. And, in reality, that’s the same type of trust you want me to have in you when I’m awake, isn’t it? “What’s that? “The key is simply responding the way Saul did on the road to Damascus that day—by saying ‘What would You have me to do’? “Is it that simple, Lord? “What’s that? “Yes and no?” “Oh, I see. It’s more than a glib response and bunch of words; it’s a heartfelt surrendering of my will, hopes and dreams into Your control. You promised to guide me if I’d just trust You and not keep resorting to MY plan, dreams-and-schemes, didn’t You? “I knew You were going to say that. “Thank You for also knowing my heart and knowing that I really do mean that; I just keep getting in the way. Lead me today, O Lord, and use me as You see fit. I surrender my life anew to You today. Help me to rest in You today, O Jesus. I love You. Amen.” - Apostle Tom
