And in the fourth watch [between 3:00-6:00am] of the night, Jesus came to them (the disciples) walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified and said, It is a ghost! And they screamed out with fright. But instantly He spoke to them, saying, Take courage! I AM! Stop being afraid. -Matt 14: 25-27 When we are going through a hard time, usually we bring our situations to God in prayer. We ask him, Please change this, or please bring this. However, God knows that him changing our circumstances isnt necessarily the answer that we always need. In this passage when the disciples were afraid, Jesus didnt respond by addressing their circumstances. He simply stated, Do not be afraid. I AM. Gods presence is the answer you need when you are walking through something hard, not necessarily a change in what you are going through. When you sit in I AMs presence, your situations will automatically change in the way that they need to! When we seek Jesus and not the answer to our circumstances, everything will fall into place. Today, try seeking Jesus and sitting in his presence. He is the answer to all of our problems!
