And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said to Him [Jesus], “Lord, I will FOLLOW You WHEREEVER You GO.” And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has nowhere to lay His head.” And He said to another, “FOLLOW Me.” But he said, “Lord, suffer me FIRST to go and bury my father.” Jesus said to him, “Let the DEAD bury their DEAD: but you GO and PREACH the Kingdom of God.” And ANOTHER also said, “Lord, I will FOLLOW You; but let me first go BID them FAREWELL, which are AT HOME at my house.” And Jesus said to him, “NOBODY, having put his hand to the PLOW, and LOOKING BACK, is FIT for the Kingdom of God (Luke 9:57-62)… One of the RAREST of TEACHINGS that can be found in churches today is that of TOTAL COMPLIANCE to FOLLOWING Jesus. We in the Body of Christ tend to BELIEVE that God ACCEPTS EXCUSES for our DISOBEDIENCE and NON-CONFORMITY to His Will shown to us by His Son. We tend to BELIEVE that the Kingdom of God is a LAX institution where we can TAKE or LEAVE the COMMANDS of Jesus, the TEACHINGS of Jesus, and the EXAMPLE of Jesus, as though they’re NO BIG DEAL. But we’re CALLED to FOLLOW Jesus as our EXAMPLE of HOW to PLEASE God, and DO exactly what He did throughout His MINISTRY here on earth. Jesus accepted NO EXCUSES for WHY He could NOT be FOLLOWED; even to the point of calling us UNFIT for the Kingdom of God if WE do not FOLLOW Him! So, in God’s sight, NOBODY in Christ is EXCUSED from WITNESSING, TESTIFYING, and EVANGELIZING the LOST SINNER for Jesus, because all Jesus came to DO was to “SEEK and SAVE” the LOST!!! NOTHING comes FIRST as far as Jesus is concerned when it comes to OUR taking care of God’s BUSINESS of FOLLOWING Him.
