And now for something completely different. When my son - TopicsExpress

And now for something completely different. When my son Christopher ImstillStanding Springman was a young boy, 9 years old I believe, we and the twins went to the Dinosaur park in Glenrose, TX. It had been a rainy spring and the water was way up over the dinosaur prints in the creek. Just past the foot prints the water was high and it was moving rapidly. A small boy, maybe 4, the same age as the twins, fell into the water and was quickly carried down stream. I can still hear his mothers scream. In a split second Chris turned and looked at me, and one look into those eyes, I knew what he was going to do. My heart leapt to my throat for more than one reason. He dove straight into that rushing water and swam hard towards that young boy. In no time at all he had him in his arms and pulled him to shore. I dont remember much of what happened after that, besides shaking. I am still so proud of his courage and his desire to save that child, and his willingness to sacrifice himself for a chance to save someone. All I ever needed to know about the man my son would grow to be, I learned that day.
