And on to the GMO argument, this is the best study Ive ever found - TopicsExpress

And on to the GMO argument, this is the best study Ive ever found that lends support to the harm of GMOs. I understand if you dont have the time to read the whole study, so you could just scroll down to the Discussion on page 50. Basically, the only differences between GMO fed pigs and non-GMO fed pigs were: 1) increased stomach inflammation in GMO fed pigs, and 2) increased uterus size in GMO fed pigs. The conductors of this study suggest One explanation for the inflammation results could lie with the Cry 3Bb1 and Cry 1Ab proteins that these GM corn varieties are engineered to produce. They act as insecticides by inducing pore formation and disintegration of the gut tissue (Spok et al., 2007) of certain grubs that attack corn plants. So, this suggests that if GMOs didnt produce their own insecticides, then they would have virtually identical effects to non-GMO food. However, there is still the increased sizes of the uterus that wasnt given an explanation. Anyway, a previous commenter said if GMOs kill insects, then they arent good for us. Well, thats actually not entirely true, as they affect us differently than insects, but this study does suggest that there may still be adverse affects. And finally, I am not a scientist. I dont really know how to tell if a study is a good study, or the background of the scientists or those that funded this. I personally wont take this very seriously until it is peer-reviewed. gmojudycarman.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/The-Full-Paper.pdf
