Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in Gods sight is very precious. For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, If you want your man to be as commited to the Lord as you are..then show him everyday what that looks like. We so often get confused by what we think men should do for us..take out our trash, mow the lawn, pay the bills ..we forget what it means to be a wife. sometimes our quiet beauty is what they desire, the gentleness of our nature, the steadfast commitment to helping them be the best person, the one that God wants them to be..not by force of our will, but by the nudging of the spirit. Submission is not allowing yourself to be downtrodden and abused, it is allowing God to use you in a way that will make you an example to your husband, even when they are not living in abidance with the word.
