And then former DA strategist Ryan Coetzee also faces allegations of abuse of public funds in the UK. Mr Coetzee, the special adviser to UK Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, has been accused of doing party work for the Liberal Democrats while being paid by the taxpayer. That is a breach of parliamentary rules. Apparently Ryan is the highest paid advisor in the office. Mr Coetzee joined Mr Clegg’s office after quitting as DA strategist and special adviser to Western Cape Premier Helen Zille in late 2012. He was the mastermind behind the DA’s electoral gains and the Fight Back campaign under then leader Tony Leon. Ryan has not been on Twitter since the news and was not contactable either. Wonder if there is a possible link with all the DA people taking frequent business trips to the UK lately discussing investment opportunities with the UK.
