And they asked me Friday Bako, why are you supporting President - TopicsExpress

And they asked me Friday Bako, why are you supporting President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR for re-election and what really are his visible achievements? And i answered thus for the very first time. You just asked me a very good and sensitive question which i have been waiting for in order for my Plateau State people, North-Central Zone, the whole North and Nigerians must know. 1. Citizenship, age, qualification and technical competence: First and foremost let me draw your attention to the fact that our President is a Nigeria and credible enough to run for the elated position(in terms of his age, qualifications, competence and technical know-how). 2. Geometric growth in our Gross Domestic Product(GDP): For the very first time in the history of our Country we have the highest Gross Domestic Product(GDP) in the whole of Africa. Now i can beat my chest proudly to say Nigeria is the giant of Africa. By GDP i mean the market value of all goods and services from a Nation in a given year taking into consideration the population of that given Nation. This is the very first time Nigeria is achieving this great feat and i am proud of the astronomical growth of our GDP in a geometric progression. The GDP is an indicator that is used to measure the health of a Nation(economic viability) and as at today 28th September, 2014 it stands at 7.1%. 3. Improvement in the power supply: It is no longer news that power supply has significantly improved in Nigeria, thereby making most businesses to depend less on gas and other power sources. The reform in the power sector through the National Integrated Power Project(NIPP) is the best in the history of Nigeria and Nigerians can attest that we now enjoy stable power supply and plans are ongoing to increase the megawatts so that Nigerians would have stable and uninterrupted power supply. Economic activities has improved too due to stable power supply. 4. Increased food production: In its bid to keep up to its campaign promise of food sufficiency, reduce importation of food product and to improve the standard of living of its people, this administration supplied farm inputs(fertilizer, improved seedlings, insecticides, pesticides, herbicides, tractors and others) at subsidized rate to farmers in order to encourage commercial farming and enhance food sufficiency from 2011 to Date. The result which are felt in all our rural and urban areas. You hardly can go to a house that cant afford three(3) square meals unless such a house is a lazy one. 5. Decline in Poverty level: The rate of poverty has significantly declined since the inception of this administration from May 2010 to Date. In 1996 the poverty rate was 65.6%. But today the present government agricultural Growth and Investments policies are options for poverty reduction. Our Poverty rate now is 32.5% with the FG effort to reduce it to 30.8% by 2017. The reduction is as a result of sound economic/fiscal policies, increased government revenues, stabilized foreign reserves and a boost in crude oil exports. 6. Growth in NigeriasEconomy: It is no longer news that Nigeria is now the largest economy in Africa having overtaken South-Africa to become the fastest growing economy in Africa. Nigeriaseconomy surpassed South-Africas as the largest on the continent after Nigeria overhauled its Gross Domestic Product(GDP). The size of the economy expanded by more than three-quarter to an estimated #80Trillion($488Billion) above the World Banks projection of $262.6Billion for Nigeria. 7. Growth in infrastructural facilities: The way and manner infrastructures has grown under the present administration is quite commendable. No State of the Federation is left behind in the provision of projects and the FG is planning to provide more infrastructures to Nigerians. 8. Recognition and celebrating Nigerians: Today Alh. Aliko Dangote is the 29th Richest person in the world and the Richest person in Africa. Dr. Ngozi Iweala is one of the most powerful person in the world, HRH Sanusi Lamido was the worlds best Central Bank Governor for three consecutive times during this administration. Our brother in Plateau State Simdul Shagaya(Founder/CEO of Konga) is today among the most influential Youths in Africa during this administration. 9. Education: As part of its plan to make education its priority, the FG has established quality schools to meet the academic needs of the Almajiris in Northern part of Nigeria as well as policies formulation that would boost our education sector. These are just few reasons why i feel President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan should be re-elected to continue with his transformation agenda. Jonathan Shall Lead Again(JOSLA) and all hands must be on deck to achieve this feat and for transformation to continue. Friday Bako (Signed electronically) North-Central Coordinator JOSLA
