And two and a half day in between periods, travelling in a bus to - TopicsExpress

And two and a half day in between periods, travelling in a bus to school, in the auto, in-between lunch and dinner is all it took. And its marvellous. Im bound to admit, its way better than Kite Runner. The oppressions, atrocities and limitations women were subjected to has been vividly depicted in this book, and I must mention beautifully. They were confined to four walls, and inside those four walls how savage men like Rasheed tortured them every other day. How war ravaged life, back in Afghanistan. Each family stood incomplete devastated by war, bombings but life went on, miserably but it swayed on. Khaled Hosseini had succeeded in making my tears fall yet another time, when Laila stood alone having lost everyone she possessed. Mariams sacrifice left me spell-bound. My heart as a feminist skipped a beat when she stood up, even if not for herself but for the Laila she had once despised. There was a contended glow on my brow, my troubled heart relived when love was reunited - Tariq and Laila. It has earned to be one of my favourites and replaced Kite Runner - The thousand Splendid Suns! :)
