And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry - TopicsExpress

And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me”. (Mark 10 vs 47). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today. It goes without saying that in the life of Bartimaeus, his sight was dysfunctional. He had eyes, but they were not functional and they made no difference. His eyes were dis-advantageous to him. He had something that was not working. He had something that was not doing anything for him. Notice that when he heard that Jesus was passing by, he cried out. He couldn’t see Jesus, but when he heard that Jesus was close by, he used his voice and shouted out to Him. His eyes were not working, but his voice was working; he used what was working in him to connect to his solution. He didn’t limit himself because of what was not working. He used what was working. Friend, God says, Use what you have and make a difference. Use what is still functional in your life and push your way out of your situation. If your dream job is yet to come, use your current job and make a name for yourself. If the opportunities you desire are nowhere to be found, use the one you have and make the most of it. Don’t dwell on the things that make you cry and neglect those that bring smiles on your lips! Will you still continue sulking about what is missing in your life? God asked Moses, “What do you have in your hand?”. Take a quick stock about what you have,it will surprise you to know that the grass has always been green on your side but you thought it greener on the other side because of what you thought was missing. Ecclesiastes 9 vs 10a (Message Translation) finally counsels, “Whatever turns up, grab it and do it, and heartily…”. Once again, USE WHAT YOU HAVE! Pray with me, “Lord,I choose to use what I have. What I have will bring what I need”. Have a Splendid Tuesday!
