Andrew Marlowe says the season finale with TV Guide Even - TopicsExpress

Andrew Marlowe says the season finale with TV Guide Even before the episode, some fans were upset about Beckett not knowing that she was already married. How did you make this choice? Andrew W. Marlowe: It was just an obstacle placed in the way of them getting married. Its not like were forming a love triangle or something. No way that would minimize the seriousness with which Beckett takes the relationship with Castle. Castle is a character full of flaws, and Beckett has always had the moral advantage. This allows it to be a little more human in his eyes. I think its very nice to him. He is delighted by this, and I think its hard to get into a relationship with someone who is too perfect. Because of this, much of this episode was light and fun, which is somewhat different from his last most dramatic finales. Marlowe: Before we could entertain the wedding and make Rick and Kate get together, we wanted to close the arch of Bracken. We wanted to give a sense of justice to the character of Beckett so she could move into your new phase of life completely unrestricted. We wanted to do something fun and Coen Brothers. Of course we knew all along that we would have a twist at the end. With the turnaround, we have what we think is great, fun and attractive to the storyline early next year, and this platform has served very well for where we want to go. But despite Castle and Beckett overcame their obstacles in the fairy tale, you did not give them your happy ending! Do you want to purposely challenge the idea of our heroes getting what they want? Marlowe: I think its a challenge. The story were telling about their relationship is not over. Will deepen. Will become more interesting, and there are still some things that need to be overcome. This is not one of those situations where we suddenly one begins to feel differently or one of those situations where an old love reappears. This is something totally different, and were hoping that people enjoy the ride. If they continue watching, will be rewarded. I know some fans will feel ripped off, they will feel betrayed. But I hope you stay with us to see how we solve this. What can you tell us about the people in the black truck? Are related to Bracken or the mobsters who met in this episode? Or is it a whole new mystery? Marlowe: Im comfortable saying these are the questions that we like to let people think. We feel that this mystery has some interesting answers, and we are very excited to return to it in the fall. We are sorry that people have to wait so long to resolve, but we are excited about where were going. Castles car on fire is a pretty bleak picture. Can you give us any hope of survival? Marlowe: I think we know what the title of the show. Speaking of upset fans, the anger of the Internet on the wedding dress of the original Beckett contributed to it being destroyed or was just another obstacle to overcome? Marlowe: It was a bit of both. We knew that the original dress was much comment when we read the reviews, and it was our way of honoring how fans felt. But it was also to complicate the journey along the way and reach that emotional point of Beckett, What else could go wrong? and having Castle as the one to give her hope. When she begins to have doubts, it allows him to support the same way as people who are in committed relationships take turns supporting one another. And we also love the picture of the wedding dress on the autopsy table in the morgue. [Laughter] This season ended with the Johanna Becketts murder case, which has been a major engine of the narrative. What are you thinking about Season 7? Marlowe: The relationship has always been the engine. These two people are in a strong relationship that will certainly be challenged at the moment, but we are searching to create a new mythology to bring some new elements that we think will give the characters plenty to talk about. This new mythology is related to who was driving the truck? Marlowe: Yeah I think its safe to assume that this event has something to do with the mythology that we will be creating the new season. So, a happy ending is yet to come in the future of Castle and Beckett? Marlowe: Thats what I believe. They had a great deal of happiness over the past several seasons, and I think theres more to come. There will be challenges? Yes, all relationships are challenged, and were hoping to find some new ways when we return next season, but we are very excited about it. We know that there is a cost to finish a season in this way. We know that people are waiting for the time of marriage, and this is a moment that well get. But there are still some stories that we have to go before we get there. Source: TV Guide
