André: I just found this comment from Andy Beresky (ex-guitarist of Black Pyramid) on this video, i thought that I should share with you guys: HAHAHAH... Yeah, I still get a kick out of that. I think its really ridiculous how seriously people take shit like this. Its a band that sings songs about childrens book and goofy shit - its not real life. ...equal parts painful and sad, on both a personal and critical level. Holy shit, I still get blown away by the utter ridiculousness of that statement. Ive never read anything so...utterly misguided. I really feel badly for the guy who wrote that, that hes so deep in this music nonsense that hes lost that much perspective on life. If only people were so passionate about things that actually mattered. I mean, as much as I love plugging into loud amps, cranking cheap effects pedals, and singing about wizards and warriors, its not like I take it seriously man. Playing in a band is no more important than a kid scribbling with crayons on his parents living room wall. And write ups like the one you posted are such utter bullshit: true to the warrior nature fused in their nature. The guy who wrote this...wow...hyperbole and delusion know no bounds. I think its a real disservice that fans want to hear about this kind of bullshit, as its totally based on a fantastical image that doesnt exist, and I think its equally ridiculous that journalists stoop to this level. Warrior nature? Black Pyramids bassist paid someone off several thousand dollars not to beat him up. Not that Im any fan of violence and fighting; Im a pacifist. I wrote all the lyrics up to the point that this interview was done, and Ill truthfully tell anyone that theyre nonsense, theyre fantasy, theyre metaphors. We were nothing like our music, we were posers. There was nothing warrior like about this band, ever. We acted like cowards and liars 99% of the time, myself included. For some odd reason, people got into us, probably because we were greedy, deceptive, and conniving enough that we created a lot of opportunities for ourselves. You do dumb things when youre young, everything seems so big and important, even if its your small time band ripping off Sleep riffs and writing lyrics about Dungeons and Dragons manuals. Some of us eventually laugh it off, grow up, and do something meaningful with our lives. Some of us dont. https://youtube/watch?v=H47pS9j_xqg
