Angelo St. Man Dies during Domestic Argument, 3rd Homicide for 2014 Worcester, MA (May 8, 2014) - On Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at approximately 10:52 PM, Worcester Police responded to 25 Angelo Avenue for a report of a stabbing. Upon the officers arrival they observed a 31-year-old male unresponsive inside the home. The male was suffering from a single stab wound. Worcester Police, Fire and EMS arrived at the scene and provided emergency treatment. The victim was transported to U-Mass Medical Center. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at approximately 11:48 PM. At the scene was the victim’s live-in girlfriend, identified as 31-year-old Stephanie Fernandes. Ms. Fernandes was transported to police headquarters for questioning and subsequently placed under arrest. She was charged with Manslaughter and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (knife). The preliminary investigation indicates that there was a domestic argument between Ms. Fernandes and the victim. During the argument the victim was stabbed once. The two have had a long term relationship and live together at 25 Angelo Street. The name of the victim has not been released at this time as investigators are attempting to properly notify all family members. This investigation is ongoing. Ms. Fernandes will be arraigned today at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
