Angry Xbox One fans hit out at Microsoft for delay US tech giant Microsoft has delayed the release of its #Xbox One gaming console in the Chinese mainland. According to a statement posted on Microsoft China’s official Weibo account on Saturday, the company said that “despite strong and steady progress, we are going to need a bit more time to deliver the best gaming experiences possible for fans in China”. It added that #Microsoft and its partner BesTV New Media are now looking to launch Xbox One in the #mainland by the end of this year. The Xbox One was scheduled to release on September 23, and some #fans who were eagerly awaiting the launch have reacted rather angrily at the delay. They also feel that the company hasn’t provided adequate explanation for the delay. “This is expected to trigger a series of chain reactions. A statement about postponing the release is not enough. Microsoft should compensate their fans for their loss”, said a Weibo user named @Huoxingniuruogan. “No matter what, Microsoft should give an official apology, rather than finding a reason for themselves and putting customers aside,” said a user named @Wxiaoshuai535680838. The last-minute announcement has also surprised many industry observers. There is, in fact, growing speculation that the delay is linked to the anti-monopoly probes that the company is facing in the mainland.
