Ann Coulters comments about soccer contributing to the moral decay - TopicsExpress

Ann Coulters comments about soccer contributing to the moral decay of America caused me to think of my own experience. My moral decay began over 60 years ago. As a young boy, every day we played either baseball or soccer (yes, soccer isnt a new thing in America). Why? Because to play soccer kids need only a ball and a place to run. Thats all. And to play baseball kids need only a ball and maybe a bat - for us a broom handle worked just fine. You see, as a boy my family was poverty-level poor. We played with what we had, and with our imaginations. And this is one of the prime reasons why baseball is so popular in America and soccer is so popular in the rest of the world (as well as on the playgrounds of America). They both are simple games ... and children from any economic background can play them with almost no equipment, and still entertain dreams of becoming their athletic heroes. No one in their right mind would dare say that baseball has contributed to the moral decay of America. Then why say the same about soccer? What is the evidence?
