Anon please, Im certain my 6 year old son has pretty severe ADHD. He cant concentrate, hes very easily distracted, cant sit still, bouncing off the walls, etc. I made him scrambled eggs for breakfast this morning and its taken him an hour to get half way through because he just cant sit down. It eventually starts to frustrate me because I feel like he just doesnt listen to a word I say, but I know its not really his fault its just impossible for him to stay on task. Its effecting him in school as well. We need to get a handle on it for both of our sakes but I dont want to medicate him unless it is my absolute last resort. I recently put him in a sport that he wanted to do to see if the practices would tire him out but he cant pay attention to the coaches long enough to know what hes supposed to do, then gets frustrated and breaks down. The only thing Ive found that he can sit and pay attention to are video games but I obviously dont want him doing that all day either. Are there any natural ways to approach this? TIA!
