Anonymous Declares Cyber War on Jihadis for Charlie Hebdo Attack By Tina Nguyen | 4:45 pm, January 10th, 2015 The hacktivist collective known as Anonymous released a video this week declaring that they would avenge the deaths of the cartoonists and staffers at Charlie Hebdo by shutting down jihadist websites. “We are declaring war against you, the terrorists,” a figure wearing Anonymous’ famed Guy Fawkes’ mask says, in a French statement translated by The Telegraph. The figure, whose voice is obscured, promised that the group would also track down and shutter terrorist social media accounts, in addition to shutting down their websites. In a separate document uploaded to Pastebin, Anonymous sent their condolences to the victims of the attack, and a strongly-worded message to the jihadists supporting the attack: “Freedom of expression has suffered inhuman assault … and it is our duty to react”. https://youtube/watch?v=k1sCVOG9BF8
