…Another Bright Star in the Sky Tonight… Three weeks ago we rescued Dixie, she was left at the Baldwin Park Shelter by her family. Dixie was what we call a hot mess…lots of lumps, bumps, bad skin, teeth, ears and of course she had a severe upper respiratory infection. We tackled the URI, started on the ears and skin and moved her to a wonderful foster home. She arrived on Thursday and was loving all the attention and comforts of home. Dixie went back to the vet yesterday as she was having bowel and urinary issues. We got her on meds, blood looked good and she left with her tail wagging and went back home. Last night Dixie started vomiting…by this morning she was vomiting blood clots…we knew this wasnt good…she was rushed back to the vet…it was bad…something must have ruptured in her stomach… In the loving arms of her foster mom Dixie was released from a body that was failing. Even though she was only with us for a short time she touched many hearts. Her foster mom was grateful she was able to spoil her for the last 3 days. We are grateful for the same. Godspeed sweet Dixie…may you run, play and wag your tail feeling good… until we all meet again…
