Another PINK contribution for Breast Cancer Awareness Month IDENTIFICATION: Natural Sapphire (Corundum) CARAT WEIGHT: 1.48 carats QTY. / CUT - SHAPE: 1 / Asscher - Square MEASUREMENT: 6.5 x 6.25mm COLOR / QUALITY: Pink / AAA+ CLARITY / TYPE: VVS2 exceptionally eye clean (10X) / TYPE II TREATMENTS / ENHANCEMENTS: H (heat has been applied to this stone to enhance the color hue, though not beryllium treated) ORIGIN: Ceylon (Sri Lanka) - Pelmadulla Mine CERTIFICATE / REPORT #: 000683CS COMMENTS: Makes an exceptional gem for a ring. Very durable stone for every day use. Here is a very gorgeous top color Sapphire where the gem rough was mined from Pelmadulla Mine south-east of Ratnapura (aka City of Gems) in the Sabaragamuwa province of south-central Ceylon (Sri Lanka). This absolute beauty has a very prized lively pink-magenta color hue that will dazzle you with its beauty many times over, a fantastic gem indeed. Well cut, with absolutely no inclusions seen with the naked eye, and very very minute inclusions under 10x. Fifty percent of my Sapphires from Ceylon, Burma, Thailand, Madagascar, and Tanzania were mined by local prospectors and friends I have over there, some from some old mine claims I used to have that now belong to my cousin in Thailand. The gem gravel pits in Ceylon (Sri-Lanka) yield some of the most beautiful Sapphires I have ever seen, especially the renowned and very rare Padparadscha Sapphire from this same location/deposit (Pelmadulla Mine)
