Another Storm, Another Snow Map and Long Range March 28, 2014; 4:31 PM A storm will track toward the Middle Atlantic Coast Saturday night then slowly drift out into the Atlantic Sunday into Monday. Not much in the way of fresh cold air in front of this storm as the Arctic air has quickly retreated, so the bulk of the heavier snow will be confined to the higher elevations of northern New England, southeast Quebec and into northern New Brunswick Saturday night through Sunday night. I am also concerned about a prolonged period of Freezing rain (ice) over the southern half of New Brunswick and PEI Sunday afternoon through Sunday night into Monday morning. Right along the coast in this region the ice should change over to rain by Sunday evening. The heaviest rain will push across Nova Scotia later Sunday into Sunday night with the potential for some flooding as it combines with snowmelt. The map below shows expected snowfall and areas where there will be an icy mix. In the 15-30 cm area most places will end up closer to 15-25 cm.
