Another blessed day at River City Church this morning!!! From a previous status on Friday night you might have read of our encounter with Walter in front of our church. Well as Lynda and I pulled into church this morning, we saw Walter waving to us as we drove by. I parked and asked Lynda to go on in that I was going to see Walter. Walter remembered me from a previous Sunday when I got him some donuts and then again from Friday night with the crackers I gave him and our son Drew sharing with him about our church and inviting him to Sunday worship. Well Praise God...seeds were planted and the harvest is starting to show!! Walter did indeed show up for church :) And after refreshments when I asked him if he would like to sit with my family he asked Where was that nice young man that invited me to church, I want to sit with him. I told him that nice young man was my son Drew and that he would be to church shortly. That Drew was a student at the University of Alabama and came home Saturday night from Tuscaloosa just so that he could attend worship service at RCC on Sunday morning. So with that dedication and Walter visiting I was doubly proud of Drew :) But the blessings dont end there...in my haste to meet with Walter I had left my bible in the car and excused myself to go outside to get it. While out on the front sidewalk a gentleman approached me and asked for a couple of dollars to buy a coke at Burger King because he was so hot and thirsty. I told him I had something better than that. How about coming inside where it was cool for some cold lemonade and donuts? And maybe even hang around for some good praise & worship music and the Word of God. He did!! His name was Lee and he was originally from Chicago. After refreshments he sat on the front row with my family and Walter. Now the blessings are still flowing at this point. One of my closest friends, someone that I had worked with for about 7 years and a dear friend to my family visited with us at church today. So now I have my best friend, my family, Walter and Lee sitting with me on the front row :) Blessings are still not done yet. Some friends from a previous church visited with us today at RCC as well :) Then after church my friend Dale Beach (our sound engineer) gave me a very special birthday present...A Korean rope tension hand drum and a mini gong. Such a special gift that I will definitely use in church :) After a great church service I gave my new friend Lee a ride over for something to eat and to a wash-a-teria off of Atlanta Hwy. so that he could wash his only spare set of clothes. On the way we discussed his walk with the Lord and I found out that he is saved and does read the bible as we discussed several verses that means a lot to him. I invited him back to RCC anytime he was on that side of town and he told me that he would come back. Such a blessed day in the house of the Lord. Again I stress..e to the River and see what the excitement is all about!!!
