Another busy day for Moelfre lifeboat crews. Call 1: Moelfre inshore lifeboat launched early this afternoon to reports of a dinghy being blown off Lligwy beach. On launching an immediate call came through to inform the lifeboat that the 4 children in the inflatable had now entered the water. The ILB made best speed and arrived just as the children were being assisted ashore by 3 men that had swam out to their assistance. The ILB crew carried out medial assessments of all the children and administered Oxygen to one who had ingested water. Rescue helicopter 122 landed and the onboard paramedic carried out full assessments. The paramedic was happy that now further treatment was required. The ILB returned to station. Call 2: Moelfre ILB launched again shortly after rehousing from the first call out, to reports of another inflatable dinghy being blown off shore. Whilst under way the coastguard could not establish if any persons were were involved so the ILB requested the All-weather lifeboat to launch and assist with the search. The ILB carried out a thorough search from the location of the dinghy inshore, whilst the ALB carried out a search and recovered the dinghy further off shore. A member of the public then approached the Mobile coastguard team and told them they had Lost the inflatable earlier off the beach as no persons were involved. Both boats were stood down and returned to Moelfre.
