Another meditation based upon my thought for the month - A new year and endless possibilities !! For as long, then, as that promise in resting in Him pulls us on to Gods goal for us, we need to be careful that we are not disqualified. We received the same promises as those people in the wilderness, but the promises didnt do them a bit of good because they didnt receive the promises with faith. If we believe, though, well experience that state of resting. But not if we dont have faith. Remember what God said, Exasperated, I vowed, Theyll never get where theyre going, never be able to sit down and rest. Hebrews 4:1-3 (The Message) Therefore, since the promise of entering His rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. Hebrews 4:1 (NIV) This section of Hebrews reminds me that without faith we cannot expect to receive His promises. That no matter what we are dealing with, He is there to provide the rest we require to carry on as long as what we are attempting to accomplished is within His plan for us. Abba Father, help our faith to continue to grow as we work on a closer relationship with You. Please assist us in learning more, understanding Your will more clearly, and listening more carefully for The Holy Spirits promptings. Help us to become more obedient and not to fall short of Your expectations for us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
