Another nice day yesterday, just a brief shower in the afternoon to keep us on our toes. Our guests all seemed to have had a great day out and about. Cairngorm Mountain and the Ptarmigan Restaurant seemed to be a popular destination with sightings being reported of Red Grouse and Black Grouse at the lower car park, several flocks of Ptarmigan were seen on the walk to the top as well as Mountain Hare. Visits were also made to Loch Garten with Crested Tits and Red Squirrels. At Nairn, a Hooded Crow and a flock of around 30 Whooper Swans on a flooded field. Burghead had Eider, Goosander and Seals among others. A Little Grebe was spotted at Lochindorb and a walk around Revack near Grantown had a Great Spotted Woodpecker as well as Coal Tits and a Red Squirrel. To top off a great day, several guests went to the Speyside Wildlife Hide and had fantastic views of 2 Pine Marten.
