Another of the many interviews I do daily to celebrate allthings American Dream & beyond! Live it up! 1. You have been playing around the Chicago area for many years. Is there anything that stands out to you about our city?- NUGE-Yes there is, first the goodnews- The mighty Windy City is the Nugent families favorite city to visit and hang out in. I salute the good looking, well groomed, friendly, thoroughly hygienetic people of Chicago for always making us feel right at home. How you guys keep downtown so damn clean is to be commended. Now the bad news- With all that positive glow, how in the hell do you do it with Rahm Emanuel in charge? Godspeed my Chicago R&B&R&R friends! 2. I am very curious about your voice work on Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Who approached who for this idea? What was it like to work with the staff over at Williams Street? NUGE-Forced to admit there simply is no such thing as a stunt double for me, when attempting to depict anything close to The Real Nuge, my NugePhone doth ringeth. Being a huge fan of Timothy Learys human guinea pig experiments in zombie fatigue, I immediately jumped on the opportunity to bring some believable reality to this fascinating television adventure. So yes, it was fun being more of me than usual. 3. You are a living legend that has paved the way for guitarists and anyone who has involved themselves in playing an instrument in general (me included!) Who is out there today that has your attention as far as talent goes? NUGE-I am genuinely moved by the soulful touch and amazing talent of Joe Banamassa, Kelly Clarkston, Carrie Underwood, Dave Grohl and all his guys, The Black Keys, Jimmy Kimmel’s band, Paul Schaefer and his band, Justin Timberlake and his band, Kid Rock, and many others, but my current favorite is Bruno Mars and his insane grinding, grooving band. But with all due respect to all those gifted virtuosos, nobody rocks with the ferocity of my band; Mick Brown, Greg Smith and Derek St Holmes. We are carrying on the torch for James Brown and his Famous Flames and the mighty Motown Funkbrothers! It is in our blood.
