Another one for our dolphin lovers, this time some slow motion footage of these majestic creatures! This year we have been amazed by the increase in numbers of the offshore bottlenose dolphins that have been in the Bay. This species of dolphin are quite large and very robust. They are often referred to as the speedsters of the sea. They never fail to put on a show, whether it be bow or stern riding, they are very interactive and love the boat and peoples attention. Just like their cousins, the Humpback Whales, Hervey Bay seems to be a very important area for the mothers and calves of offshore bottle nose dolphins. The abundance of bait fish are a great food source for them and the calm sheltered waters gives them protection during their early days of life. #visitfrasercoast #tasmanventure
