Another parenting question: Tara asked for creative input on this today -- I have a 4 y/o daughter who is the most destructive child Ive ever met. I have 2 other children that are boys & nowhere near as messy! We have tried everything to curb her from messing so much. She is CONSTANTLY into things & making huge messes. I turned my back for a few minutes yesterday putting away laundry & she covered my 4 month old in glitter. She has taken a permanent marker to my floor, her Bible, etc. (dont even know how she got it!) Im at my wits end. She gives me anxiety attacks because I get SO TIRED of cleaning up messes. Yes we make her clean them up but theres only so much a 4 y/o can effectively do. We are just running out of options & shes always in trouble for something. I love her but she is a spoiled rotten brat! She is the only granddaughter & people have spoiled her, undermined our authority, etc. Discipline doesnt work! Times outs, spankings, groundings do not faze her. Shell do something else 10 minutes later. I just got through digging a whole bag of oyster crackers from the bathroom sink. She dumped them in & ran water over them. I dont get it! She is such a sweet & kind hearted little girl but the constant messing... I CANT keep up! We have tried creative discipline as well but nothing seems to work!!!
