Another reason our law enforcement makes me smh, let me tell you about my most recent incident with a cop: Im pulling into my apartment complex, an officer is on his way out. We kind of make eye contact, I keep driving towards the gate to put in my code. Before I know whats happening he is right behind me with his lights going off. We both go through the gate and I pull over, completely confused as I have done nothing wrong! The officer approaches my car and says You took that turn a little fast coming in here, dont ya think? At this point I dont know what to say, I stumble over my words, he then asks me why Im so nervous. Im sorry what?! Why am I nervous? Im being pulled over by you, asshole! So of course Im nervous... Ummm, hello? Then OUT OF NOWHERE he asks me if I have any marijuana in the vehicle, I say no... Yall at this point Ive been working all day and Im just trying to go home. He takes my I.D. and goes back to his car. When he returns he asks me again about having marijuana in my car. (Side note: I have never had marijuana in my car so why is he even asking me?) I ask him why he thinks I would have such a thing in my possession, if I look messed up, etc.? He claims he can smell something just a little bit. He asks if I would step out of my car so he can search it. I say Sure whatever makes you happy. As he is rummaging through my vehicle he says You know, if you have a little on you and you are honest with me I wont do anything. ??????? What is he even thinking that someone is that stupid? Then after he found absolutely nothing, he has the audacity to ask me if I was hiding anything in my boots?!!!! I said Sir, if it makes you feel better I can take off both my shoes for you right now. He said no, it was fine. FINALLY after 20 minutes and having half the people living in my apartments see me possibly getting in trouble with the police, he lets me leave. And that, ladies and gents, is where your tax dollars are going. As if those pigs have nothing better to do than harass law-abiding citizens.
