Another tough day of training and preparation has come to an end - TopicsExpress

Another tough day of training and preparation has come to an end and now I can look forward to a nice long weekend as Ill have the next three days off for recovering and recharging before training resumes on Monday. As I said, today was rather tough as we did a multishuttle session in the morning. Multi is a cruel form of training where you collect a lot of shuttles into rows and then you have a feeder who makes you work round the full court in many different predetermined exercises. Today we had to go through 996 shuttles in total. Thats actually 60 less than what was on the program last week. I think our coach is starting to soften up a bit ;-) It takes a little less than one hour to complete this full program - if youre efficient and in good shape obviously. After this training session I had a short lunch before a one hour meeting with my sports psychologist where we discussed how the last week of training has been for me. We also evaluated on how my work on my serve is going as this is more of a mental issue than a technical. Fortunately this is going very well :-) In the last part of the session we did some visualisation with focus on my first match at the Worlds to try to recognise the feelings that will occur, both good and bad. After a short break I had to do weights for the last time this week. A short program mostly focused on leg strength that took about 40 minutes. And after this I did a great 45-minute yoga session along with 4 of the other Danish players who are going to the Worlds. Yoga is definitely not my biggest strength, but I really enjoyed the session today and I felt like it was great training. Maybe I should start doing that a little more often... Now all theres left for me is to enjoy the evening with my girlfriend and our two small dogs - such a great little family :-) /HK
