Answer to todays Grammar Challenge about the sentence, I have not yet visited the U.S. Capital building in Washington, D.C.. ***** Answer: CAPITAL should be spelled CAPITOL. Thats how you spell it when you are talking about the building. Also, the extra period (full stop) at the end is unnecessary. The period after D.C. serves both to indicate an abbreviation and conclude the sentence. There is never a need to double periods. I admit that BUILDING is redundant. It is most common to simply refer to the building as the Capitol. I just didnt know how else to make it plain that the sentence was referring to the building as opposed to the city. I was able to find several references to the Capitol building, but some examples capitalized BUILDING while others did not. Im not sure which would be correct. To really improve the sentence, I would delete BUILDING altogether. There is nothing redundant or incorrect about have not yet visited. In fact, it is much clearer in my opinion than placing YET at the end of the sentence.
