Answers to salafi/deobandi Allegation on Muslim(ahle-sunnah)!! Please read It would just take 3 mins!!! 1)Did prophet celebrate meelad? A)Narrated by Hazrat Abo Qatada(RZ) that we asked Rasool Allah(SAW) about fasting on Mondays and he replied This is the day when i was born and I received revelations. [Sahi Muslim, Book of fasts, no 1162] [Sunan Nasai, no 2777] [Masnad Imam Hambal, no 22594]. 2)Did sahaba or taba-yee or tabe tabayee celebrated the birthday of prophet sallallahu alaihiwasalam? A)When rasool allah himself celebrated why do you need any other proofs!!! Anyways,sahaba did celebrate meelad of prophet: Hazrat Abu Said al-Khudhri (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrated that Muawiya (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said once Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) came near the gathering of a group (Halaqa) of Sahabah and inquired as why they were sitting. The Sahabah said we recite Allahs (سبحانہ و تعا لی) praise and thank Him for showing his Deen to us as He has done a great favor upon us by sending His Apostle (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم). The Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) asked, do you really sit for this purpose? They said, we swear to Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) that we are sitting for that purpose only. Then the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said I did not mean that I doubted your statement, but it is for the reason that Hadhrat Jibreel (as) came to me and informed that Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) expresses His happiness by showing your gathering to His Angels. (sunan- Nasai,part-2,page-591). 3)Did Imam e azam Abu hanifa celebrate meelad? A)Abdullah b.mubarak(radiy allahu anh) states:Imam Abu hanifa visited madina,It was 12th of rabi al awwal and I saw Imam abu hanifa distributing drinks to the children of madina and telling them to rejoice as it is the day rasool allah(peace be upon him) was sent to us.[Imam Shaybani in hadaiq al-anwar vol1,pg.130] 4)Did any of the scholars of islam celebrate meelad? In the whole universe,Only muslims celebrate prophet sallahu alaihiwasalam birthday. 6)12th of rabbi ul awwal is not the correct date birth of prophet sallahu alaihiwasalam? A) Ibn Abi Shaybah (rah) in his Musannaf narrates from Affan>>Sa’id>>Jabir and Ibn Abbas (ridhwan Allahu ajmain) who said: Rasul Ullah (salallaho alaihi wasalam) was born in the year of elephant on Monday, the 12th Rabi Ul Awwal [Ibn Kathir in Seerat un Nabi, Volume 1, Page No. 199] if your still convinced with the date,then do ijtehad!!!pick a date and celebrate meelad. 7)Is Reciting poetry,durood o salaam,taking Procession(juloos) allowed in Islam? A)Narrated Syeduna Anas ibn Malik: When the Apostle of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) came to Medina, the Abyssinians played for his coming due to joy; they played with spears. [Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 41, Number 4905] PART of hadeesSo all the Muslims rushed to their arms and received Allahs Apostle on the summit of Harra. The Prophet turned with them to the right and alighted at the quarters of Bani Amr bin Auf, and this was on Monday in the month of Rabi-ul-Awal[Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 58, Number 245] Note:Dancing,Playing music,Dj is haram in islam.It is gunah e kabra,Please refrain from it and celebrate meelad by reciting quraan,naat,durood o salam. With the above fact and evidence it is clear that celebrating meelad is not haram. It is mustahab and act of gaining good deeds. EID meelad un nabi mubarak!!!!
