Antwerp, Groenplaats In our wild, clubbing days, Phil always - TopicsExpress

Antwerp, Groenplaats In our wild, clubbing days, Phil always hoped for the DJ to play dEUSs Suds & Soda (quote: Still one of the best songs to dance to ever!). Ole, however, spent his nights trying to convince the DJ to put on Ks Choices Not an Addict. Siblings Sarah Bettens and Gert Bettens founded The Choice (later for legal reasons renamed to Ks Choice) in 1992. Their debut The Great Subconscious Club was well received and led to support-slots for #Morphine, #TheProclaimers and most-notably the The Indigo Girls. Ks Choice - musics international breakthrough came with the second album Paradise in me (1996). Six singles, including the major hit Not an Addict were released from that record. Ks Choices powerful live show sparked the interested of #AlanisMorissette, who handpicked the band to join her on a huge US stadium-tour. Two fabulous studioalbums (Cocoon Crash (1998), Almost Happy (2000)) and one livealbum later, the band decided to take an indefinite hiatus. Sarah Bettens concentrated on her solo-career while Gert formed Woodface. It took until 2010 that Ks Choice re-emerged with their fifth work Echo Mountain, recorded in North Carolina, shortly followed by the acoustic Little Echoes. Just yesterday, Ks Choice confirmed on their FB-page, that a new album is coming together nicely. The first single should be coming your way in January and the album in the spring. In a café overlooking Antwerps Groenplaats, Sarah and Gert talked to us not only about working on the new record, but also about their first band The Basement Plugs, about experiencing stardom, about the reasons for the bands hiatus and about Antwerps music in general. In a particularly pleasurable interview, Sarah and Gert gave us valuable insights into the uniqueness of Anwerps music. That was the best possible conclusion to our trip to Belgium. youtube/watch?v=AxY6KrqGnCw
