Any growing interest in soccer can only be a sign of the nations - TopicsExpress

Any growing interest in soccer can only be a sign of the nations moral decay. Wise words by Ann Coulter A sign of the nations moral decay is the fact that you can write this column that is racist, misogynist and just absolutely disrespectful to soccer fans (and people) all over the world. This is basically what it says. 1. No serious sport could ever be Co-Ed. Soccer requires very little talent that even girls can play with boys. 2. Its all about teamwork and apparently if there are no heroes or losers since everyone is accountable for the results of the game. That is terrible because The prospect of personal humiliation is required to count as a sport. 3.what separates us from being beast is the fact that we have opposable thumbs and souls (at least most of us do) and the fact that you cant use your hands in soccer is a terrible idea, because if you cant use your hands for an activity you are that much closer to becoming a beast. By the way she said that hands were meant to hold things which I just discovered right now after 21 years of being alive, it completely changed my life, I dont have to eat with my feet on the table anymore. 4. Soccer is like the metric system. (???) By the way I still dont see how 12 inches=1foot, 3 feet=1 yard and so on is easier to learn (and work with) than 100 centimeters=1 meter, 1,000 meters= 1 kilometer. Liberals get angry and tell us that the metric system is more rational than the measurements everyone understands. This is ridiculous. An inch is the width of a mans thumb, a foot the length of his foot, a yard the length of his belt. Thats easy to visualize. How do you visualize 147.2 centimeters? Yes that makes a lot of sense because all of our hands are the same size, we all purchase size 11 Men shoes, and most importantly we all wear the same size pants. 5. No American whose great-grandfather was born here is watching soccer. Well thats right, I watch soccer and my great-grandfather was Mexican, so is my grandfather, so is my father. I guess she was right about that one. Hmm, but I was born in the US so I guess three generations from now your point will no longer be valid. Either way its not as if watching soccer was in the genes. Yes it is part of our culture but in reality its just like watching a tv show, some people like Game of Thrones some like Glee. I happen to like both, the point is that it is mainly about preference. I may sit down in the future with my kids to watch Doctor Who (I definitely will) they might like it, they might not. (they better) I cant force them to like the show. (I will) Ultimately this point Miss Coulter made really has not point. Much like the whole column. It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance.
